Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State, Nigeria, has imposed a dawn-to-dusk curfew in Owo, Owo Local Government Area, following violent cult clashes that left four people dead.

The announcement, made in a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, highlighted the escalating security concerns in the area. The governor directed security agencies to enforce the curfew, restore peace, and apprehend those responsible for the violence.

Residents have been ordered to remain indoors during the curfew, with exceptions made only for essential services, including hospitals, emergency responders, and law enforcement. The state government urged the public to comply with the directive and cooperate with security operatives to prevent further loss of life and property.

The clashes, which erupted on Monday, have raised concerns about ongoing cult-related violence in the region, prompting swift action by the government to curb the unrest and ensure safety in the community.
