Reggaeton superstar Daddy Yankee has reached a legal agreement with his estranged wife, Mireddys Gonzalez, to regain control of his businesses following allegations of unauthorized withdrawals amounting to $100 million.

The dispute, which surfaced shortly after the couple announced their divorce after 29 years of marriage, involved Gonzalez and her sister, Ayeicha Gonzalez, allegedly withdrawing funds from accounts tied to Daddy Yankee’s companies, El Cartel Records and Los Cangris. While Gonzalez’s legal team claimed the withdrawals were dividends, Daddy Yankee argued they were unauthorized.

A court hearing in San Juan, Puerto Rico, ended with an agreement transferring the management of El Cartel Records from Gonzalez to Daddy Yankee. The deal, set to take effect on December 26, allows Gonzalez to remain a shareholder but requires joint approval for any transactions exceeding $100,000. Assets in corporate accounts will remain untouched for now.

Speaking after the court session, Daddy Yankee expressed relief at the resolution and asked for privacy and respect for Gonzalez.

The legal dispute marks a significant chapter in the life of the artist, who retired from music in 2023 after a massive farewell tour but has continued releasing singles this year. Despite their separation, the couple remains tied by their shared family and professional history.
