
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), in collaboration with the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) and the National Refugee Commission, has welcomed 310 Nigerian returnees from the Niger Republic.
In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, NEMA’s Kano Territorial Office confirmed the reception of the returnees at the Immigration Training School, Kano, on Monday at 10:10 p.m.
The agency stated, “The National Emergency Management Agency, Kano Territorial Office, participated in the reception of three hundred and ten returnees (310) alongside the International Organisation for Migration and the National Refugee Commission.”
The returnees included:
- 98 female adults
- 41 male adults
- 85 male children
- 86 female children
NEMA highlighted its collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure the returnees’ safety and provide necessary support during their reintegration process. This marks another effort in addressing the challenges faced by displaced Nigerians returning from neighboring countries.
