Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has reclaimed his position as the world’s richest individual, according to the latest Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Musk’s net worth surged to a staggering $447 billion on December 13, surpassing Amazon founder Jeff Bezos by more than $190 billion.

This remarkable increase in wealth comes as Tesla’s stock hit a record high of $424.77 per share on December 11, contributing significantly to Musk’s fortune. In addition to his Tesla holdings, Musk’s artificial intelligence startup, xAI, has seen impressive growth, with its valuation more than doubling to $50 billion after a recent funding round.

Musk, who is also the owner of the microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter), remains the largest individual shareholder in Tesla. Recently, he was appointed by former President Donald Trump to lead the newly established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Trump, who secured a victory in the November 5 election, praised Musk’s leadership qualities in the announcement.
