
The Katsina State Police Command has reported the arrest of four suspects involved in the illegal supply of security uniforms to armed bandits. This significant breakthrough was achieved on November 19, 2024, during a routine patrol along the Yantumaki-Kankara highway, where Aminu Hassan, 25, was apprehended carrying two pairs of military uniforms concealed in a polythene bag.
Further investigations led to the arrest of three accomplices in Kaduna State: Lawal M. Ahmad, 29, and Isma’il Dalhatu, 24, both from Sabon Gari, Zaria, and Shafi’u Adamu, 28, from Danjaba Village, Soba.
According to the state command’s spokesman, Sadiq Abubakar, the police recovered a total of 14 military uniforms and one police uniform, which the suspects intended to deliver to armed bandits. The suspects have confessed to their crimes and will face charges in court after the investigation concludes.
The Katsina State Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa, commended the professionalism of the operatives involved and urged the public to continue providing actionable intelligence to help combat criminal activities in the region.
