Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has retained his position as Spotify’s most-streamed Nigerian artist for 2024. This marks the second consecutive year the artist has topped Spotify Wrapped rankings in Nigeria, solidifying his dominance in the music scene.

Spotify Africa announced the milestone on Wednesday as part of its annual “Spotify Wrapped” report, which highlights the most popular artists, albums, and songs globally and regionally.

“This achievement reflects Asake’s unparalleled influence in Afrobeats,” said a Spotify Africa representative. “His music resonates deeply with fans not just in Nigeria but across the world.”

In the female category, Ayra Starr, Tems, and Tiwa Savage emerged as the most-streamed female artists in Nigeria, continuing their trailblazing efforts in Afrobeat and R&B.

“Ayra Starr’s consistency and unique style have earned her a loyal following,” said the report. “Tems and Tiwa Savage also continue to push boundaries, inspiring a new generation of female artists.”

Behind Asake in the male category are global icons Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido, who have consistently remained at the forefront of African music. Their strong streaming numbers underscore their lasting appeal and relevance in the competitive music landscape.
