Queen Camilla, wife of King Charles III, has disclosed that a recent bout of pneumonia forced her to cancel several engagements, including last month’s Remembrance Day events. The 77-year-old made the revelation during a reception at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, held in honor of Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.
Camilla returned to royal duties on November 12 but has decided to avoid outdoor activities during the two-day Qatari state visit due to post-infection fatigue. A royal source shared with the Press Association,
“She has lost the coughing, but the lingering side of it is bouts of extreme tiredness.”
This marks the latest in a series of health challenges for the British royal family. Earlier this year, Catherine, Princess of Wales, concluded chemotherapy after announcing her cancer diagnosis in March. Meanwhile, King Charles III continues treatment for an undisclosed cancer, which led him to temporarily withdraw from public duties earlier this year.
Despite their health struggles, both the King and Princess have resumed limited public appearances, with Charles recently completing tours in Australia and Samoa.
