As the controversy surrounding the Kano Emirate tussle continues, the 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has made his first official appointment. This development occurred barely a week after his reinstatement as Emir.
The former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Sanusi, approved the appointment of Hamisu Sani as the new Ward Head of Kofar Mazugal in Dala Local Government Area. The Emir emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence among the residents and urged the new Ward Head to contribute positively to the development of the state.
Earlier, various district heads and notable figures, including delegations from religious and market organizations, paid homage to Emir Sanusi at the palace. These delegations included members of the Ansarulddeen Tijjaniya sect and traders from Kano’s prominent markets, such as the textile market (Kantin Kwari) and the commodities market (Singer market).
Sanusi II was reinstalled as the Emir of Kano last Thursday following the repeal of the Kano State Emirates Councils (Repeal) Bill 2024 by the Kano State House of Assembly and Governor Abba Yusuf.
