Notorious Nigerian bandit kingpin, Kachalla Baleri, has been arrested in the Niger Republic after escaping captivity earlier. Troops of Niger Republic’s Operation Faraoutar Bushiya apprehended Baleri on Tuesday at Rouga Kowa Gwani in the Guidan Roumdji community.

Colonel Mohamed Niandou, Chief of the Tactical Staff of Operation Faraoutar Bushiya, confirmed the arrest, stating that Baleri was captured while planning attacks in Nigeria and Niger.

The Governor of the region, CGP Issoufou Mamane, and the Prosecutor of the Republic, Adamou Abdou Adam, commended the professionalism and commitment of the troops during a presentation ceremony for the criminals.

The arrest of Baleri, originally from Shinkafi in Zamfara State, marks a significant achievement in the fight against banditry and terrorism in the region.

Baleri was notorious for terrorizing residents of the North-West, including Zamfara, Sokoto, and the Maradi region in Niger Republic. He has been linked to abductions and large-scale killings in the Northwest. Recently, he released a video displaying bundles of naira notes suspected to be ransom money collected from kidnapping activities.
