American rapper Nicki Minaj, known for her global influence in hip-hop, has revealed that she collaborated with Afrobeats sensation Davido on her track If It’s Okay to infuse the song with an authentic Afrobeat tempo.

Nicki shared this in response to a question from a fan on X (formerly Twitter), who praised Davido’s contribution to the song. She expressed admiration for Davido’s talents, stating:

“That man is an incredible writer and melody maker. It’s always a pleasure working with him because of our mutual respect for one another. I asked him to be part of it to bring out the Afrobeat tempo/feeling a bit more. Naija to the world.”

The track is part of the 10th-anniversary special edition of Nicki Minaj’s iconic 2014 album, The Pinkprint. This commemorative edition includes four new tracks and features collaborations with artists like Swae Lee (Turn Ya Cap Back), David Guetta, and the late Juice WRLD (Arctic Tundra).

This marks Nicki Minaj and Davido’s second collaboration, following their 2020 hit Holy Ground from Davido’s album A Better Time.

Davido, who recently celebrated his 32nd birthday with major milestones, continues to amplify Nigeria’s presence on the global music stage.
