Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has been elected as the 1st Vice President of the West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B.

The election was held in Niamey, Niger Republic, during the CAF African Schools Football Championship (WAFU B qualifying tournament). Gusau’s election comes alongside the selection of Kurt Edwin-Simeon Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association, as the WAFU B President, and Oumarou Sawadogo of Burkina Faso as the 2nd Vice President.

•   Nigeria
•   Togo
•   Benin Republic
•   Ghana
•   Burkina Faso
•   Niger Republic
•   Côte d’Ivoire

Gusau’s Contributions

Gusau, who assumed the NFF presidency in September 2022, has a distinguished track record in African football administration. He has held positions such as:

•   Member of the Organising Committee for the African Nations Championship (CHAN).
•   Top security officer for FIFA and CAF.

His new role as WAFU B 1st Vice President reflects his growing influence in regional football governance.

This development reinforces Nigeria’s commitment to playing a pivotal role in advancing football in West Africa.
