In a unique initiative celebrating academic excellence, 12-year-old Aladetan Opeyemi, a student of Oyo State Comprehensive Model College, was inaugurated as the one-day chairman of Oluyole Local Government Area in Oyo State.

Opeyemi, alongside three peers—Abdulrasaq Oladokun (Vice Chairman), Aluko Israel (Secretary), and Tijani Teslim (Leader of the House)—earned their positions after excelling in a school-based competition organized by the local government.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony held at the council secretariat, the Executive Chairman of Oluyole LGA, Hon. Akeem Olatunji, emphasized the importance of such initiatives in promoting education and rewarding academic success.

“This programme demonstrates that academic excellence is far more rewarding than the celebration of nudity on television and social media,” Olatunji said.

As part of their activities, the young officials inspected the newly completed Grade A Customary Court project in the area.

Olatunji also pledged to sustain the initiative throughout his tenure, expressing hope that it would continue under future administrations.
