YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul secured a unanimous decision victory over former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson in an eight-round bout, marking Tyson’s first fight in 19 years.

The fight, held at the AT&T Stadium in Texas and streamed live on Netflix, ended with scorecards reading 80-72, 79-73, and 79-73 in favor of 27-year-old Paul. Tyson, 58, last competed professionally in 2005.

The match began with Paul exploiting his youth and agility to repeatedly close the gap, deliver quick jabs, and retreat to avoid Tyson’s signature heavy blows. Despite a few solid body shots from Tyson, the two often clinched, drawing boos from the audience.

As the fight progressed, Paul gained confidence, landing heavy combinations in the third round. Tyson, though static at times, showcased flashes of his former self with powerful strikes, including a stiff overhand right in the fourth round.

“I knew [Paul] was a good fighter,” Tyson said post-fight. “I didn’t prove anything to anyone but myself. I’m just happy with what I can do.”

By the seventh round, both fighters exchanged heavy blows, but Tyson’s fatigue became apparent. In the eighth and final round, the legendary boxer struggled to maintain his pace, sealing Paul’s victory. The fight ended with an emotional embrace between the two competitors.

Paul celebrated his win while acknowledging Tyson’s legacy. “To share the ring with one of the greatest was an honor. He’s a legend, and tonight, I made history by stepping in with him,” Paul said.

Tyson hinted at a possible return to the ring, stating, “I don’t know if this is my last fight. It depends on the situation. I’m happy with my performance.”

The bout attracted massive viewership, cementing its place as a historic moment in boxing. Tyson, who held the undisputed heavyweight title from 1987 to 1990, remains a beloved figure in the sport, even in defeat.
