In the U.S., Dr. Oye Owolewa was re-elected as the Shadow Representative for Washington, DC, under the Democratic Party, where he advocates for statehood and local governance rights for the district. Segun Adeyina retained his position as the State Representative for Georgia’s District 110, leveraging his IT background and Fortune 500 experience to support community initiatives.
Adeyemi Mobolade made history as the first Black mayor of Colorado Springs, marking a milestone for the city’s diversity. In Australia, Chiaka Barry was elected to the Australian Capital Territory Legislative Assembly, representing the Ginninderra District. Barry, with a background in law and policy, represents the Liberal Party and brings expertise in community-oriented legislation.
