President Bola Tinubu announced a significant reduction in Nigeria’s debt servicing burden, from 97% to 65%, attributing this progress to strategic financial reforms under his administration.

He shared this update while addressing and swearing in seven newly appointed ministers, urging them to stay focused on improving lives for over 200 million Nigerians, despite the challenges and expected criticisms.

The new ministers include Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda (Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction), Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi (Labour and Employment), and Bianca Odinaka Odumegwu-Ojukwu (State for Foreign Affairs). Other appointees are Jumoke Oduwole (Industry, Trade, and Investment), Idi Mukhtar Maiha (Livestock Development), Yusuf Abdullahi Ata (State for Housing and Urban Development), and Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad (State for Education).

This move underscores Tinubu’s commitment to easing Nigeria’s fiscal challenges while expanding the government’s capabilities across diverse sectors.
