The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has announced that a preliminary report on the Port Harcourt helicopter crash will be available within 30 days.

The crash, involving a Sikorsky SK76 helicopter with registration 5NBQG, operated by East Wind Aviation, tragically claimed three lives on Thursday.

The helicopter, which departed from Port Harcourt Military Base (DNPM), was en route to the Nuimantan oil rig but crashed into the waters one kilometer from its destination at approximately 11:22 a.m. A total of eight people were on board, and three bodies have been recovered.

NSIB Director General Alex Badeh Jnr, speaking with Channels Television, stated, “The circumstances surrounding the crash remain unknown. A preliminary report of the accident would be out within 30 days,” He said.
