Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar has publicly apologized to Apostle Johnson Suleman of Omega Fire Ministries, admitting she defamed him and caused distress to his family and ministry. The actress issued the apology in a letter, expressing deep regret for her actions.
The dispute between Abubakar and Suleman began in 2022, when the actress became bedridden and her family took to social media, accusing the cleric of being responsible for her condition. The incident sparked widespread speculation, with many alleging that Abubakar was suffering from an autoimmune disease, which she later denied by sharing her medical report.
In her letter to Suleman, Abubakar acknowledged the harm her accusations had caused and asked for his forgiveness. She wrote, “I admit that I made false allegations against you and also regret my actions and the damage I caused to you, your wife, Dr. Lizzy Suleman, your family, and the leaders of Omega Fire Ministry.”
Abubakar continued, “I humbly ask for forgiveness, recognizing that my apology cannot undo the harm, pain, and distress I caused. I ask you to find a place in your heart to forgive me, as I was not thinking right then.”
The actress also expressed hope that her apology would help repair the damage to Suleman’s image and his ministry. “I’m truly sorry for all the hurt and distress I caused you, your family, and your ministry,” she added.
This apology marks a significant turn in the public feud, with Abubakar taking responsibility for her previous actions and seeking reconciliation.
