
In a grand ceremony held at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, the Ooni of Ife, Osun State, Nigeria, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, honored First Lady Oluremi Tinubu by unveiling a golden statue in her likeness.
The statue was part of several tributes recognizing her contributions to education, women’s empowerment, and national unity.
In addition to the statue, a 2.7km road named “Senator Oluremi Tinubu Way” and a monumental pavilion were inaugurated on the university campus. The Ooni praised her leadership, stating, “A golden statue is erected to immortalize her virtuous personality and to showcase the strength of a teacher, mother, and wife at the very heart of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.”
The Ooni highlighted Mrs. Tinubu’s continuous efforts in advancing educational causes and creating opportunities for the nation’s youth. The First Lady also pledged a N1 billion donation towards horticultural landscaping at the university.
