Rose Idibia, the mother of Nigerian music icon 2Baba, has publicly pleaded with Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru to release her son, claiming he is not in the right state of mind due to his ongoing divorce from actress Annie Idibia.
In a viral video shared on Thursday, Mrs. Idibia called on Nigerians, particularly mothers, to intervene, alleging that Osawaru’s influence on 2Face was unnatural.
“My son is going through a divorce, and he is clearly not himself. I know my son well. This is not him,” she said. “Please, Natasha, remove the beads you put on his hand and neck, and free him.”
The plea follows a widely circulated video of 2Face proposing to Osawaru, which has sparked controversy on social media. The footage captured the singer presenting a ring to the lawmaker, solidifying rumors of their relationship just days after he confirmed his separation from Annie Idibia.
In response to public speculation, 2Face had earlier defended Osawaru, stating that she had no role in his marital issues and that he had genuine feelings for her. “She is a young, brilliant, and amazing woman. I love her and want to marry her,” he declared.
Osawaru, a member of the Edo State House of Assembly representing Egor Constituency under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has faced backlash, with many accusing her of being a homewrecker. However, 2Face insists their relationship is genuine and unrelated to his failed marriage.
The situation continues to generate widespread reactions, as fans and the public weigh in on the unfolding drama.
