Nineteen Nigerian senators were denied landing permits at Kashimbilla Airport in Taraba State, preventing them from attending a senatorial empowerment program.

Senator David Jimkuta (APC, Taraba South) revealed this at the event in Wukari, where he donated various empowerment items to his constituents.

Jimkuta, who chairs the Senate Committee on FCT Area Councils, stated that he had followed all necessary procedures for the flight before learning that the airport had been temporarily shut down.

“The visit would have allowed them to understand the state’s needs and offer support,” Jimkuta said, lamenting the situation.

Despite the setback, the senator urged beneficiaries of the empowerment program not to sell their equipment but to use them to improve their livelihoods.

Chief David Kente, Chairman of the occasion, praised Jimkuta for the unprecedented scale of the empowerment, describing it as the largest in the district’s history.

Items distributed include Cars, Motorcycles, Tricycles, Sewing machines, Deep freezers, Vulcanizing machines etc

Jimkuta also pledged to support security agencies with logistics to enhance safety in the region.
